Lluvia: 500-3000 mmRainbow and Fog

The “Reserva Geobotánica Pululahua” is located in the Pululahua crater. Here you will find an almost unique landscape which, despite its proximity to Quito, has a calming and relaxing effect. The edge of the crater offers visitors a beautiful view. However, you have to arrive early in the morning to enjoy it. If you stay a little longer, you can watch the clouds move through the valley at considerable speed over the next few hours and then leave the crater in the direction of Quito.

It is worth descending into the crater, although a certain level of fitness is recommended due to the altitude of the volcano. The descent took us 30 minutes, including short breaks. The ascent then takes 50 minutes, including breaks. Hiking boots are recommended.

For refreshments, I recommend stopping at "La...

This is a wonderful park to hike and admire nature near by quito city. You can reach the viewpoint with a minimal walking (3 minutes from the parking place ) You should go early in the morning if you want to see the all volcano crater ( no later than 12 am) otherwise it will be cloudy , normally after this time the clouds come from the pacific and cover this entire area. For hiking we recommend you hire a guide otherwise you will miss a lot of information and maybe you could get lost looking for the right paths...

This place is beautiful as long as the fog or clouds do not roll in and obstruct views of everything. Our drive brought us here before Mitad del Mundo because the weather was just right. Thea small admission to the lookout that is well worth the price.

We came in the afternoon and we were the only ones there! The view was completely clouded over, apparently that is usual in the afternoons. So if you can, better to come here in the morning!
