This is a 5km return walk through the beautiful forest on a narrow but clear trail. Once you have parked the car, the trail goes off of the gravel road to the left very soon after the lake. There is a little sign on the right pointing the way, but that can easily be missed! The walk has forest, lake and rock views. The terrain is manageable altho there were a few logs to hop over and roots to negotiate. Not too up and down altho near the paintings there are a few flights of stairs. At the water by the paintings is a jetty to jump off and also a long drop toilet. There are information signs about the paintings and they are cool to see. The people I was with have seen them before and they said that they seemed more faded than last time. A lovely walk with some history included. :)

Amazing place to visit, the rock paintings were clearly visible. We were completely alone on the walk there as well as at the site if the paintings which made the experience even better. The walk was short and pretty easy except for 1 part in the middle were the path was flooded and the water reaches a depth of about 70cm at the deepest point. There are logs and wooden beams layed out to help you cross but I can imagine it's not easy of doable for everyone. I could do it without any problems but my husband didn't feel steady and needed some sticks to help him get across (we are both about 30 and in good condition).

Irt is ok destination, however the walk is quite basic trail in woods. One way is a bit more than 2.5km. So total above 5km of walking as it is back and forth trail instead of a loop. Some small lakes with rocky islands were along the sides of the trail, bit nothing too magnificent. If you have time and you are history fanatic, for sure a good hike, otherwise nothing too special to spend time on. There are also a bit of space for parking the car at start of the trail
