This is a 5km return walk through the beautiful forest on a narrow but clear trail. Once you have parked the car, the trail goes off of the gravel road to the left very soon after the lake. There is a little sign on the right pointing the way, but that can easily be missed!
The walk has forest, lake and rock views. The terrain is manageable altho there were a few logs to hop over and roots to negotiate. Not too up and down altho near the paintings there are a few flights of stairs.
At the water by the paintings is a jetty to jump off and also a long drop toilet. There are information signs about the paintings and they are cool to see. The people I was with have seen them before and they said that they seemed more faded than last time.
A lovely walk with some history...
