Pien-Toijola Peasant Museum — Attraction in Mikkeli sub-region

Very interesting, if somewhat eerie, stop on our way through the area. We parked up and explored without anyone there but a couple of builders working on the farmhouse nearby.

Lots of the cabins remain as they were since the 18th century, so it's cool to immerse yourself in what feels like a place frozen in time.

Very cozy museum with a lot of items from way back. My favorite were the design on the snowboots shown to us by the guide who was very knowledgeable and charming.

6/5 would definitely recommend to anyone who’s interested in how people lived hundreds...

Näppärästi oli matkanvarrella ja tuli tehtyä extemporee käynti. Todellakin näkemisen arvoinen. Ajan hengen pystyi hyvin aistimaan ja lapsikin innoissaan tutkaili ja availi ovia. Olisin halunnut ehdottomasti kuulla enemmän paikan historiasta. Paremmin opastettuna tai enemmän infokylttejä eri kohteissa tms millä olisi päässyt paremmin juonesta kiinni, kun omatoimisesti sielä joutui kiertelemään. Uskon, että tällä paikalla olisi monta tarinaa ja mielenkiintoinen historia. Plussaa oli, että kuuluu...
