Marjaniemen majakka kuuluu suojeltuihin rakennuksiin alueella. Se on ainutlaatuinen vierailukohde.
Majakan kunnossapidosta vastaa Hailuodon kunta.
Marjaniemen majakka on merkittävin Perämeren meriturvallisuutta ylläpitänyt valomajakka, joka toimii vieläkin avustavassa roolissa. Rakennus valmistui vuonna 1871, mutta itse valolaite saatiin majakkaan vuotta myöhemmin eli majakan valo syttyi ensimmäisen kerran 3.9.1872.
Vuosi 2022 onkin majakan 150-vuotisjuhlavuosi. Alkuperäinen valolaite oli ranskalaisen Fresnelin järjestelmän mukainen ja toimi naurisöljyllä. Sen jälkeen käytettiin petroolikaasua.
Rakennus on valkokylkinen tiilestä muurattu merenkulun turvaksi tehty majakka. Valolaite on ruotsalaisen AGA.n tehtaalta peräisin ja vuodelta 1950. Prismalinssistö on Fresnel-tyyppinen.
The Marjaniemi lighthouse belongs to the protected buildings in the area. It is a unique place to visit.
The municipality of Hailuoto is responsible for the maintenance of the lighthouse.
The Marjaniemi lighthouse is the most significant lighthouse that has maintained maritime safety in the Gulf of Bpthnia, and it still functions in an auxiliary role. The building was completed in 1871, but the light device itself was added to the lighthouse a year later, i.e. the light of the lighthouse was lit for the first time on September 3rd, 1872.
The year 2022 is the lighthouse's 150th anniversary. The original light device was based on the French Fresnel system and ran on turnip oil. After that, petroleum gas was used.
The building is a white-sided brick-built lighthouse built for maritime safety. The light fixture comes from the Swedish AGA factory and dates from 1950.
Swedish Nobel laureate Gustaf Dalén is the inventor of the solar cell valve and he brought it to lighthouses, which significantly improved maritime safety. In Finland, there is a bottom lighthouse named after Gustaf Dalen.
The light fixture used acetylene gas, which ignites easily. The same gas is used in welding.
The lighthouse was electrified in 1962. Safety improved even more...
