One of the greatest, most beautiful waterfalls in Finland, the "Angel Falls of Finland" if you will. Requiring a bit of a hike from Kilpisjärvi, you can reach Kitsiputous in about two to three hours following the hiking trail from the Käsivarrentie road parking area. I would highly recommend wearing hiking shoes for this, since the journey is filled with rocks and uneven ground.
Falling down the side of Iso-Malla fjell, a mountain stream creates the waterfall by dropping down about a hundred meters combined over two big steps and multiple smaller steps. While the water flow is not enormous, it creates beautiful fans that glisten in the sunlight.
When you reach the falls themselves, you're greeted by the falls on one side and the stream flowing down through a beautiful forest landscape on the other. It is also possible to walk right next to the main falls and actually climb to the rocks behind the falling water if you're so inclined.
Truly a top class nature...
