So, as much as I would like to rate this higher, hard facts need to be told.
(as of August 2016) The castle is in an extremely poor state, and, seeing as they are reconstructing it with medieval means, it will stay that way for many years to come, so I didn't think it was really that impressive.
The view however, is definitely worth it (top of a cliff) , as long as you're not expecting to see even half a medieval castle still standing.
THAT BEING SAID. The medieval village under the castle is definitely very impressive and there are some nice gift shops there, including a woodworker who does some interesting necklaces. (really, go and check it out)

The castle dominates the village from the road in, and the walk up to it through impressive old gates and narrow streets helps set the expectation. I was passing on a long journey and they went out of their way to let me in in their lunch break, the price was very reasonable too.
