Grottes de Thouzon — Attraction in Avignon

A visit to Grotte de Thouzon is truly an enchanting experience that I highly recommend. Located just outside Avignon, this stunning cave offers a captivating glimpse into the natural beauty that lies beneath the surface.

The guided tour through the grotto was both enlightening and engaging. Our guide provided a wealth of information about the cave's fascinating geological formations, including its impressive stalactites and stalagmites. The sheer scale and intricate details of the underground structures were awe-inspiring and showcased the incredible artistry of nature.

The cave is well-preserved and thoughtfully illuminated, allowing visitors to fully appreciate its majestic features. The cool, refreshing environment inside is a pleasant contrast to the summer heat outside, making for a comfortable and enjoyable...

Disappointing. Don’t bother! Everything that is there can be viewed in the few photographs on the website, nothing more to see and it’s tiny and no peacocks outside. The tour takes 45 minutes due to the guide stopping and talking for the duration, not for the distance walked. It’s approximately 100 feet inside a tiny cave. That’s it! They lock you inside with a key that only the tour guide has access to, bit frightening, especially if there was an emergency you wouldn’t be...

Phenomenal caves with a guided tour taking about 45 mins. Fantastic stalagtites at an incredible scale lit up perfectly. A light show at the farthest point in the caves was also stunning. We were provided with guide cards in English but the guide spoke so clearly we were able to understand a lot of the French too despite many years since learning French at school.
