Discover the Bay of Mont Saint Michel — Attraction in Avranches

As someone who doesn't do well amongst massive hordes of tourists, this was THE PERFECT way to discover the Mont Saint Michel. We did the 16:30, 2-hour tour. Our tour guide, Guillaume, was funny, interesting, and very informative. Even the woman who answered the phone when I called with questions was patient, kind, and answered my questions thoroughly. The whole organization of this place is extremely well done. We and our children enjoyed slipping, sliding, and squelching through the sands, then rinsing off in some of the creeks, and learning about / experiencing quicksand. Bybthe time we finished, most of the tourists had gone home and we had a quieter, more authentic Mont Saint Michel practically to ourselves. We would have liked to stay for the rising of the tides, but our littles were getting too tired and hungry. Can't recommend this...

We had a great experience due to our great guide(Guillome) and our choice to go for the evening/night visit. It was a mystical and active experience and it was in a 'smaller' group and very calm at mont sain michel(see pic). Since we slept on the parking site we saw about 150 people gather for the morning visits so i wouldn't recommend that. Plan for this...

Expérience magnifique à vivre en famille, entre amis ou seul-e. Nous avons choisi la balade entre légendes et histoire du Mont Saint Michel avec Marc, guide attesté de la baie du Mont Saint Michel et avons passé un agréable moment à imaginer la création du Mont Saint Michel. Nous avons profité de notre présence quelques jours de plus pour refaire une balade dans les grèves avec Benjamin, autre guide attesté, pour une balade sensorielle pleine de découvertes. Les enfants ont adoré les histoires, les traversées des fleuves, les sensations (balade pieds nus), et le plus attendu, les sables mouvants ! Les guides sont très agréables, à l'écoute, ont une parfaite connaissance des lieux et surtout sont très pédagogues et à l'écoute des jeunes enfants, c'est appréciable. L'accueil réservé à la boutique était parfait, nous avons été écoutés et les propositions de sorties en adéquation avec nos contraintes. Nous ne manquerons pas de revenir pour une sortie de plus longue durée comme la traversée depuis le bec d'Andaine à Genêts pour les 7km de...
