Der Phare du Cap Lihou ist nicht nur ein beeindruckendes historisches Bauwerk, sondern auch ein Ort voller Atmosphäre. Hoch über dem Ärmelkanal gelegen, bietet er eine atemberaubende Aussicht auf die Chausey-Inseln und bei klarer Sicht sogar bis nach Jersey. Besonders bei Sonnenuntergang herrscht hier eine fast magische Stimmung.

Der Leuchtturm selbst ist aus grauem Granit gebaut und wirkt trotz seiner schlichten Form sehr elegant. Auch wenn man ihn nicht von innen besichtigen kann, spürt man die Geschichte – er ist seit fast 200 Jahren in Betrieb und wurde früher sogar von Leuchtturmwärtern bewohnt.
