Château de Chassagne Montrachet/ BADER-MIMEUR — Attraction in Beaune

We were delighted to visit the chateau of Bader-Mimeur. We were greeted by Nathalie who explained the process of wine making including the recent vintage. We got to see the French oak barrels of both red and white wine recently picked. Nathalie expertly explained each of the wines and we tasted 5 wines - 4 Chardonnay and one burgundy. The wines were delightful and showed lovely fruit with a tinge of oak. We were very impressed by both the wine-making process and the wines themselves, particularly their balance. We had a fantastic afternoon here trying and buying wines from the local area. Our host was fantastic. She is the many-th generation touring and cultivating vines with her brother and we had a full tasting flight of wine. We ended up taking some home with us as they were fantastic wines and would highly recommend to all. We really appreciated learning about the local vineyards, the terroir's, and the grape varietals as well as the importance of the plots and the premier crus and grand crus. My wife, friends, and I had an unforgettable visit to Bader - Mimeur in Chassagne-Montrachet. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the owner herself. She personally guided us through the cellars, providing detailed explanation of the winemaking process and the rich history of the winery. It's the only château in Chassagne-Montrachet. The wines were exquisite, and the passion and knowledge shared by the owner made our visit truly special....
