The beach is accessible for the public. Parts sandy beaches and parts are rocky. Typical for the Opal Coast. The castle of Ambleteuse is designed by Vauban as a coastal fort monitoring the Slack. The castle looks very unique but is only accessible on saturday and sunday during the touristic season. All in all worth a short stop and worth combining with stuff nearby, like Battery Todt for example.

There is a certain charm about this place. Rockpool, sandy beach, sea waves, fort, concrete bunkers, starfish, river running into the sea and so much more. I love this place. It is quiet and a place to enjoy nature. You can walk along the coast here too. Parking is free. Great place to spend a summer’s day. Not far is Boulogne and Wimereux. Family beach.

Beautiful beach with few people. Beach with pebbles and sand. You have a beautiful view of the fort, which you can visit at weekends (14:30-18:00). It is possible to walk in the surroundings and to stroll in the dunes, to explore blockhouses of the second world war, a pretty corner to discover.
