Being a Canadian, we decided to start our visit to Normandie with the Juno beach.

Keep in mind that weather in January is not ideal due to low temperatures and high wind.

As we drove closer to the beach area, we started to see Canadian flags flying. The good thing about visiting in January was that you don’t have to compete for parking near the beach.

We took a short walk along the beach and looked at various German gunman posts. It was hard to imagine this peaceful beach was once a bloody battleground and all the lives that were lost on this very place! It is a feeling that is hard to describe. You need to be...

I visit here whenever I can as my dad was a D-Day veteran landing here. There's a range of bars and restaurants along the front as well as the several memorials. The Canada House museum have moving ceremonies, especially the lantern one on 6th June, and it's owned by a very friendly family who welcome people into their life from all across the world. The beach is nice too. It's part of our...
