Plage de Saleccia — Attraction in Calvi

I give you as good description I can. Because I searched in advance before visiting Saleccia and didn’t get the whole picture. First. This is a beach worth traveling to. One of the top 10 in Europe if you search for unique places. This is natural. Beside Chia in Sardinia this is magic. For me. St. Florent is the nearest city. You will find at least 3 providers of transport by boat there. It cost you 30 euro in a rib. Easy 10 min. You can choose in and out times in advance if you are early or there the day before. From 09. Saleccia gives you about a kilometer of the finest sand with no gras or other. At the south end we found Rosa or pink if you want, sand. You walk easy out in the water. Slowly it gets deeper. So nice. We saw 4 private boats when we where there on a Wednesday in September. We walked 50 minutes to Lotu beach along the coast and returned from there. Wearing just sandals. Nice walk. Lotu is smaller and ok but we found Saleccia more perfect for us. You can also reach it by car. If you have a decent 4x4 just do it. They say 45 minutes. From the road up on St Florent mountain. You find it. There are many providers of transport in that area. 30 min from the city. So you need to add that for the 45 min if you stay in St. F. I don’t know the price for...

One of Corsica’s finest beaches—and worth every bit of effort to reach it. Getting there isn’t easy, but it is doable with a standard rental (we managed in an Opel Corsa). Allow roughly 45 minutes for the drive; the road is bumpy, rocky, unpaved in most places, and requires slow, careful navigation but the standard ride height is enough for this road (full cover recommended tho) Your reward? Sweeping turquoise water, powder-soft sand, and the unforgettable sight of white cows lazing right on the shoreline. A small beach bar serves snacks and cold drinks; card payments are accepted for purchases over €20.

Wir sind mit unserem VW T6 Frontantrieb hingefahren. Es gab ein Schild mit “neuer Strecke”, diese sind wir gefahren. Vorab: Dies ist machbar. Man braucht nicht zwingend Allrad, jedoch NUR wenn die Strecke trocken ist! Nochmal machen würde ich es allerdings nicht. Es ist eine absolut holprige Angelegenheit, viele Steine, Staub, Rillen, massive Bodenwellen usw. Wir haben rein für diesen Weg ca. 40 min gebraucht, da wir nicht schneller fahren konnten. Es war äußerst abenteuerlich und hat auch ein paar Nerven gekostet. Die Wasserstelle ist NICHT trocken, man kann aber durchfahren, es ist auch bei weitem nicht die schlimmste Stelle der Strecke. Mein Auto hat mir allerdings sehr leid getan. Es ist super schlecht für die Stoßdämpfer und sicherlich auch für den Rest wie Reifen etc. nicht so toll. Ich würde daher davon abraten selbst hinzufahren. Es gibt entsprechende Fahrzeuge wie Quads und Buggy’s zum Ausleihen, damit macht es sicherlich auch viel mehr Spaß. Mit einem Geländefahrzeug ist es kein Problem, damit werden auch Shuttles vor Ort angeboten. Wenn mein armes Auto nicht so gelitten hätte, hätte es uns auch mehr Spaß bereitet :-) Wenn ihr ein tiefer gelegtes Auto habt: Erst garnicht versuchen! Auf gar keinen Fall, ihr reißt euch alles weg. Man benötigt ZWINGEND genügend Bodenfreiheit, selbst mit einem normalen PKW würde ich absolut davon abraten die Strecke zu fahren, ihr werdet es ansonsten sicherlich für euer Auto bereuen. Der Strand: Natürlich super schön. “Wilde” Kühe, tolles türkisfarbenes Wasser, ein paar Algen, aber langer Strand mit viel Platz. Sonnenschirm mitbringen, es gibt keine Schattenplätze am Strand.
