Domaine Jean Becker — Attraction in Colmar-Ribeauvillé

Called this winery to ask for possibilities to have a wine tasting. To my surprise, the winery replied by inviting me to the shop to because they are here "to produce and sell" and not to open bottles for a tasting.

The tone of voice of the woman on the other end of the line was uninviting and schoolmarmish, which triggered me to write this review in the same tone.

Wine tasting is a well-known concept as far as I am concerned, for which a service fee is commonly charged. Furthermore, the winery benefits from significant purchases of wine bottles by the participants at the end of the event.

If such an event or tasting isn't offered by this domain, all fine. But please don't try to teach your potential customers...

Worst experience EVER! Do not go to this place. She was rude, condescending and unfriendly. Acted like we were bothering her and called us “foreigners”. Made fun of every single thing we did and said about wine: ZERO STARS. Shame on you for treating perfectly nice tourists with money in their pockets...

So unverschämt wurde ich bei einer Weinprobe noch nie behandelt! Noch bevor ich (um zu wählen welchen Wein ich KAUFEN möchte!!!) darum bitten konnte einen Riesling und einen Gewürztraminer zu testen wurde ich extrem unfreundlich angeschnauzt, dass das hier kein „frei Trinken Lokal“ wäre in dem man sagt was man will und dann „tschüss“…. Mir fehlen die Worte!!! Bei all den wunderbar netten, freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Weinverkostungen, die wir die letzten Tage hatten bei denen wir IMMER etwas gekauft haben ist das einfach nur beschämend! Gutes Personal und ausgebildeter Service scheint für manche leider schwierig zu sein! Dann geht man eben woanders hin um sein Geld auszugeben....
