Absolutely stunning . We were a little bit misled because we thought we could swim around the area but it turns out that if you want to swim in that beautiful water it’s actually about 20 or 30 minutes away. However, there is parking and it’s not that expensive at all I think it was about €3 for the few hours we stayed and they have a toilet that everyone can use and lots of vendors who serve things like hotdogs and pizza slices. If you’re travelling from abroad, be sure to try and use Google lens for your translating needs as not much is in English. Once you arrive at the car park, it’s around a 15 minute walk down a lot of stairs and some trails until you reach the waterfall. you then reach a platform like a viewing platform that holds about 10 people and you can look and take photos, a little underwhelming as you literally just stand there and take photos then leave and walk back up back to your car, whereas I thought we’d be able to touch the waterfall or explore the area nearby but you can’t it’s very much “stick to the trail” and don’t come off it. You can’t come off it because there’s actually Fences. But I’ve decided to give it four stars as it was very beautiful and a lovely little tucked away gem and all the staff that work there were very helpful. There are lots of staff along the route and it’s impossible to get lost. Would definitely recommend. We drove two hours from cannes...
Read moreCascade de Sillans is a beautiful and peaceful spot, perfect for a nature escape. The walk to the waterfall is very friendly for most visitors, with just a few slightly steep steps along the way. I’d definitely recommend wearing comfortable shoes, as it makes the short hike much more enjoyable.
If you’re hoping to get some great photos, it’s best to go early. The viewing deck overlooking the waterfall tends to get quite busy, especially with families visiting later in the day. It’s a very child-friendly destination, and I even saw several people with buggies. While the paths are generally manageable, you’ll want someone with you to help lift the buggy at certain points – that was the case from what I observed during my visit.
Near the entrance, there are plenty of food trailers offering a range of options including wraps, soft drinks, ice cream, and even a pizza trailer – great for grabbing a bite after your walk. There is parking available close to the site, but do note that it is paid parking.
All in all, Cascade de Sillans makes for a lovely outing that combines natural beauty, accessibility, and a few tasty treats – just be sure to plan ahead and arrive early for the...
Read moreGreat to visit around midday when the sun is opposite the waterfall. Tourist info centre at the top car park (in big building) very helpful. 4 stars because I walked down by the school and took the dirt track beside the river thinking that was where to go and came to a fenced off dead end after going through forestry following course of the river. There was no signage at the vital part directing you AWAY from the dirt track beside the river. After the tourist centre said the access was definately down by the school I went down again and stayed on the tarmaced driveway where after a while picked up clear signage to the waterfall. I went down the multiple stepped path and up again in sandles as it was dry - care would be needed if wet and better footware would be appropriate. Asthmatics (like me) should take their inhaler with them as getting back up may be an issue! Lovely view of the waterfall from viewing deck. My son and girlfriend went the other side of the river and were not rewarded with such a great...
