Plage de la Datcha — Attraction in Guadeloupe

Went here based on recommendation from the Lonely Planet, but have to say we were disappointed.

It is a small beach with some bars on the beach and the view on the little island makes it a scenic setting, but there are much more beautiful beaches around Guadeloupe than this one! There is limited space to chill, as the beach gets narrow fairly quickly, so the main area to sit is right by the parking lot.

One of the best beaches on the south side of Grand Terre. Sandy, deeper water which allows for better swimming. Wirklich schöner Strand für einen Tagesausflug! Wasser ist super schön und warm. Es gibt jede Menge Bars & Restaurants. So weit wir ab dem Parkplatz geschaut haben, gab es keine Liegen, haben uns dann das Strandtuch auf den Boden gelegt. Ab dem Kreuzfahrtterminal gibt es Taxis, die einen Hin- & Zurück bringen (ca. 20min). Kommunikation kann schwierig werden, wenn man kein Französisch kann! Haben für die Hinfahrt 30€ für zwei Personen bezahlt und für die Rückfahrt 25€. Man kann aber mit dem Taxifahrer am Terminal ausmachen, dass er einen auch wieder abholen soll. Wir haben uns am Strand einfach ein Taxi gesucht. Ich glaube die Taxis werden etwas billiger, wenn man sich eines außerhalb des Kreuzfahrtterminals sucht, die stehen dann eh gleich parat, können aber meist kein Englisch.
