Museum of Shell — Attraction in Les Sables-d'Olonne

This is an excellent attraction for people of all ages. It's an apparently privately run museum with more shells and wonders of the sea that you can easily take in, all beautifully presented in atmospheric surroundings. We spent a happy two hours here on a rainy day, which compared well with the prices/times of other local attractions. Good little museum, so many different types of shells and lots to learn. Perhaps a little on the "boring" side for kids, which is why they had prepared little quizzes to give them and little tables with papers and pencils and things to keep kids entertained as well. Ours got a little bag with a few shells at the end which they were happy with. All in all, a cute little museum, to keep you busy for between 45 minutes and 2 hours. Nice collection. Friendly management and reasonably enough priced - 21 euros for 2 adults and 1 paying child (3 year old was free). We were advised the visit would take around an hour and a half but we were done probably in 30 minutes.
