Château Laffitte Carcasset — Attraction in Lesparre-Médoc

My wife and I had the pleasure of a tour and tasting at Château Laffitte Carcasset in early October. Lucie Dollé, the Wine Tourism and Accomodation Officer was our contact and her communication with us ensured we had all the information needed to visit. Lucie began with a brief tour and history of the Chateau. Her knowledge was extensive and we enjoyed seeing the production and storage facilities. Château Laffitte Carcasset takes great care in crafting their wines and it shows in their final product. At the tasting, Lucie provided us with two delicious, but different wines. We were very happy to purchase bottles to take back to Bordeaux (and enjoy with friends that met us that evening) as well as a nice bottle to bring back across the pond. Wine tourism on the Left Bank is quite limited (especially when the majority of your experience has been in California). The small towns are very quaint, but void of cafes and shops that one might expect in the wine capital of the world. Saint-Émilion has far more tourism, but Lucie and Château Laffitte Carcasset are earning their place on the map with customer service, charm, and communication. It is well worth the...

WOW! This place is fantastic! The room is absolutely stunning and this winery castle estate is picture perfect at every turn. Their wine is excellent and the tour of the winery was fascinating. We also greatly enjoyed relaxing by the pool and sipping their best wines in the grand salon at the end of a long day exploring this beautiful region. I have travelled extensively around the world and I must admit that their VIP Concierge approach to customer service is perhaps the best I have seen in all my travels. Lucie is absolutely amazing! We stayed for 4 days/3 nights (during a statutory holiday in France) and Lucie was there to greet us with a big smile despite our later than expected arrival, to serve us a lovely breakfast every day, to help us with last minute reservations for dinner at nearby restaurants, to find that special bottle of wine we'd been looking for, to give us a highly informative tour of their beautiful winery and to make us feel like we were special guests of the chateau! We are very impressed with her resourcefulness, her great energy and lovely personality. We will absolutely plan to stay there again someday! I highly recommend this...
