We visited Chateau Laniote in April 2025 having searched for a St Emilion vineyard that is dog friendly. We arrived a little early but received a very warm welcome to wait in the grounds. As did Rudi our dog!
Arnaud is a spectacularly warm and funny host who punctuated our visit with pranks, jokes and magic tricks. His approach complimented his vast personal knowledge, his passion for the wine he and his family produce and his pride in his long-standing St Emilion family heritage.
The wines we tasted during the visit were so delicious that we couldn't leave without buying a couple of bottles, A little pricey, but you pay for the experience. We'll remember our visit with great fondness when we finally savour them on a special occasion.

It was honestly by FAR the best wine I had in St. Emilion & I went to 3 other places that day... Arnaud is so sweet & funny & has a few magic tricks up his sleeve for you when you visit. Not necessary, the wine he makes with his wife is superb. The only bottle I bought that day & from a "bad year" no less. It was fruity & full bodies & didn't have a lot of acid like all the others I had tried. They know what they're doing there. Read moreThe best vineyard we visited this trip in Bordeaux. Arnaud not only clearly knows his stuff, but he's entertaining and super friendly. Unlike many vineyards these days that have been picked up by banks and big corporations, Laniote is still family owned and run.
Beyond that though, the wine is spectacular and a step above everything else we had in the region. I bought 10 bottles on the spot (vs. none at most places we went) and doubt they will be the last I buy...
