Montdomaine — Attraction in Loches

Amazing visit to Montdomaine on trip to Loire and Nomandy. First of all, Louisa is a great host and tour guide. She accommodated our last minute (day of) schedule change and welcomed us warmly when we showed up a few minutes late. Second, we loved hearing her and her husband Frédéric’s stories and philosophy about wine making; our kids liked the caves and the setting/ scenery and chateau are beautiful. An inspiring couple who practice what they preach. Third, all the different wines we tasted (sparkling, white, rose, and red) were fantastic and our group left with many bottles (at extremely reasonable prices). If we come back to Loire we will visit Montdomaine again and are exciting they will hopefully have a USA distributor soon! This is a must stop if you are in the area, especially if English speaking since Louisa is from Great Britain. She is also quick to respond to email which is a huge plus when plans change! We had the most lovely visit to this charming winery this past Friday. Louisa shared the story of the vineyards and their wine-making philosophy with us—our group learned a great deal and enjoyed her detailed narrative. After showing us the cave where the wine is made and taking us through the process, she fed us delicious local appetizers along with the samples of their wines. I highly recommend a visit to this winery if you are in the Loire Valley region. You will be so happy you got to experience this enchanting place. My wife and I had the absolute pleasure to enjoy a tour a tasting guided by our charming host Louisa. She explained all about the long history of the vineyard, their philosophy that her husband and she are following, showed us the cellars (or rather caves) and offered us several of their wines for tasting. Absolutely delicious, complex flavours, and many background Informations made it a truly remarkable visit. Not to forget Louisas wonderful art that could be found on the labels of the wine and on many other items, and the beautiful garden of the Chateau.
