We stayed 3 nights in this amazing chateau and really wished we could have stayed longer! Our room was the Pavillon Marie-Louise room (separate from the main house) and we loved it. Since it's set apart from the other buildings, we could talk and laugh late at night and not worry about disturbing others. The room was comfortable and clean, and we loved being able to have a little picnic on the little table outside. (Some of the tile in the shower was about to fall off the wall, so I was very careful not to touch it or brush against it with my bath towel. Being a DIY home remodeler, I had to resist the urge to mix up some mortar and do a quick tile repair.) Other great features: the wifi was strong and fast, the pool is gorgeous (though too cold when we were visiting), there is a summer kitchen for guests who want to cook, and the main house has a billiards rooms. Breakfast was so elegant and delicious, served in the beautiful dining room. Véronique served fruit from her garden and a variety of local cheeses, yogurts, and bread. You could also have a soft or hard boiled egg. The local apple cider was so delicious, as was the café au lait. The grounds are what stunned us. The chateau itself is lovely, but the surrounding gardens and hills are amazing. There are so many little trails and walkways to explore and you're often rewarded by beautiful views of the Loire. You can even see Chateau d'Amboise in the distance. One evening we sat up on the hill behind the B&B, enjoying a light picnic dinner, and watched hot air balloons rise across the sky. After an unusually stressful day, that was a highlight moment of our trip. Chateau de Nazelles was the our favorite place we've stayed in France. We wish France wasn't so far away so we could visit Chateau de Nazelles more often!

Our stay here was a dream. We stayed here as a couple in mid-May and had the most wonderful time. Our room, Olivia, was quiet and cool and comfortable, a perfect blend of old charm and modern comfort. The grounds of the chateau were absolutely magical; around every corner there were flowers and old stone and beautiful views. The breakfast each day was a delight. Bread, pastries, and jams are brought to each table and then you get to order whatever else you'd like to eat (we always had soft boiled eggs and yogurt with the chateau's own honey each day) and drink. After a day out biking and canoeing in the area, one evening we wanted to have a peaceful evening at the chateau for dinner, and Veronique put together the most amazing spread of cheese, charcuterie, bread, etc for us to enjoy in the garden. They even spread a tablecloth out on the outdoor table for us, and delivered our picnic tray to us outside. It was a perfect way to end a day. The only thing to note is that the chateau is outside Amboise, and taxis are hard to get. While we had our car with us, we didn't want to drive in and out whenever we wanted to go to town, so we asked Veronique to arrange bicycle rental for us ahead of time, which she did. They were ready for us on arrival, and were picked up after we left. The convenience of this was wonderful, and made the distance to Amboise not a problem at all. The bike ride to and from was short and pleasant, and not on busy roads at all. My one and only disappointment was that the pool wasn't open while we were there. I suppose we will just have to come back in the summer so we can enjoy it. :) I loved our stay so much and wish we could have stayed longer. Truly one of my favorite places we have ever stayed, and can only highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at Château des Nazelles for 4 nights in the Castle Chamber - Superior Room. We had a wonderful stay! Our room was clean, spacious, comfortable and very inviting. It was nicely serviced everyday and we really enjoyed the tea products. There is a lovely lounge area in the main building to spend time in. Véronique is a wonderful hostess and she took time from her day every time we stopped to chat with her or pet her adorable pup Poppy. She helped us with dining recommendations and reservations. We had breakfast one morning in the breakfast room. Everything was fresh and locally sourced. The Château grounds are nicely landscaped and the hidden pool is beautiful. Sadly, it was a bit cool and overcast during our stay so we were not able to enjoy it. There are many wonderful restaurants in nearby Amboise. to dine at - La Fourchette and Au Cœr Epicurieux are two that we loved. The Château is nicely located among many of the châteaux in the area such as Chenonceau, Chambord, Villandry and Azay-le-Rideau. Visit the Montdomaine Winery nearby for a wonderful tour and wine tasting with Louisa or Frédéric. We highly recommend a stay at Château des Nazelles! Thanks again Véronique and Poppy for helping to make our visit so memorable!

From a written recommendation in Rick Steves France we selected Chateau de Nazelles Chambres hosted & owned by Veronique & Olivier & staff. We were traveling France in September 2023 for 30 days for our anniversary. We stayed in the very special Cave room above the Chateau which has a nice kitchen, hot tub and sauna. Lovely, quiet, & cool as it was in the 90's during our 3 night stay. Our first night Veronique & staff prepared a light meal for dinner which we enjoyed in the garden. We visited with other guests, loved the pool, the views & the spacious & beautiful Chateau. Breakfasts were amazing & as a beekeeper I enjoyed honey from their hives. The wine selection available for purchase is fabulous. If you have a car there is also an Intermarche grocery store & gas station close by plus a dry cleaners if needed. Plus a fabulous La Grange aux Pains Patissiere. An easy 10-15 minute drive to Amboise. We enjoyed a hot air balloon rider with France Montgolfieres balloon Flights-Maverick our pilot was outstanding-went early in the morning. Plus we enjoyed a beautiful tour of Chateuan Chenonceau-you must tour this beautiful property. Make an online reservation as it will save you time. I would skip Chambord. Loved & would definitely return to Chateau de Nazelles. Merci...
