Of course it is beautiful but not more beautiful than other beaches. Add the following negatives and you know why I scored only 3 stars: very, very crowded 40 minutes walk through hilly terrain from nearest parking (march-oct the road is closed for most traffic). Make a reservation in the restaurant and you can drive. No reservation = no food over there. *Watch out; narrow road to drive , not for faint at heart! no restaurant or bars so bring your own food (we didn’t so had to leave early) no showers like most other beaches in area. water not particularly fresh because but okay.

To me it seems overrated, if you are looking for a comfortable (still very crowdy) beach, try popular beaches of ciotat, cassis or...

Impressed by the views while walking to the beach. Not impressed by the beach itself. Maybe because in September there is a lot of sea grass and the shore looks a bit dirty. The shoreline is not big thus it gets crowded pretty quickly. The scenery of the hike is very beautiful but the hike for people who just want to get to the beach is not that pleasant. You walk on the road where all the cars are passing by, even though it is a national park as explained at the entrance. The policemen or guards did not let us pass with the car because the place is a national park but then again there were so many cars driving by. I guess it depends on whether you are french or a tourist. Definitely not...

A very gorgeous beach - very untouched by tourism as the beach itself is pretty run down. It's not a huge beach so it can get very busy. Lovely clear water for swimming and snorkeling. You can only drive there if you make a reservation at the restaurant which I would highly recommend as the hike is not for the faint-hearted. You can walk the road although this takes much longer. The hike route is very rocky and slippery so take proper walking shoes. Takes about 40 mins from the car park to walk. The walk back would take much longer and it's ALL up-hill. We managed to hitch a ride from a lovely French man so we were lucky. Take plenty of...

Framed by the two peninsulas of the ridge of Sormiou to the south-west, and by the crest of Morgiou to the north-east, the creek of Sormiou is the best known and most frequented of Marseilles. It is also the largest and one of the only inhabited creeks, and it has a small harbor. A few cables from Marseille, discover a landscape out of time and the hustle and bustle of the city. The place is popular with fishing, hiking and climbing enthusiasts. Leaving the creek by the left is the prehistoric cave of Cosquer. A small white sand beach and a few restaurants right on the water. Small sheds on the side. A fragrance of paradise close to Marseille.
