Castle of Saint Brisson sur Loire — Attraction in Montargis

Great treasure hunt in a beautiful chateau with fantastic views of the Loire Valley. Clues are difficult enough to keep 2 adults and a teenager interested. Takes you throughout the chateau and around the grounds with traditional games to play and plenty of things to see and do in each room. We particularly appreciated that we could eat our own picnic in the beautiful grounds. If you don't speak French you would need to use your phone to translate the clues. The castle looks nice from the outside but is not worth the entrance fee. They have devised some sort of quest for a hidden treasure leading you through this supposedly 'haunted castle'.

If you're a child or like puzzles and riddles you may enjoy yourself. Probably best if you speak French, English translations are provided but seem lacking that intent of the French thus making you miss clues.

If you're more interested in finding out about the history of the castle, just don't waste your time. You'll be sorely disappointed by all the fake cobwebs and...

If you expect to view an impressive castle, it's not worth it. However we spent a fun afternoon with the riddles. You actually have to explore and touch things to find some clues which is very satisfying to the inner child. It was surprisingly hard, we couldn't find some clues but managed to solve the riddle in the end by the power of deduction. Would recommend if you're around the area and looking to spend some time with non sightseeing...
