What a great place to visit, for a very moderate fee - 6 Euros + 0.50 euro to rent a recorded tour guide in one of several languages, this is a must visit if you are anywhere in south western France. There are two castles for the price of one, the castles are well preserved and it's easy to imagine people living here. Read moreBetter than I had expected. This is more than a “double castle site” as it’s a small village that was once upon a time a larger town. It has tumbledown properties in amidst those which have been renovated and it’s very much a lived in village. The ascent from the car park was very manageable for the average person again not as steep as perhaps reviews had led me to believe.
