The ‘Three Pines Walk’ or locally known as the ‘Three Pinus Walk’ (Pronounced ‘Pe-nis’) is indeed a marvel and a beautiful view. I would however say the signposting is abysmal and you will almost certainly get lost like we did so we have decided to leave this review to help new people find the ‘Three Pines’

Park at the Belvedere Lookout (easy to get to by car and the road to it is smooth) from the very top you can go left or right.

Go left if the view is behind you. Follow this down past a little stream with some standing water. Eventually you will come to a fork in the path. GO RIGHT. It is not signposted at all but you must go right I shall attach a photo to show. Follow this for about 10 minutes, yes it will go down slightly in elevation but that’s fine. Eventually you will come to another ‘choice’ go right again - there is a Three Pinus sign on a tree but it’s easy to miss so just keep an eye out for the path to go right and then you will be on your way to the view. Keep following all the way to the top and enjoy the view!

The paths are generally fairly easy to navigate. There is some slippery mud sections and a lot of exposed roots so you must be reasonably good...

It was a beautiful hike, and definitely worth the view. We went when it had been drizzling so it was a little muddy and slippery so we had to go a lot slower.

Even as an experienced hiker the trails were not well marked and hard to follow in places. We ran into a couple that was a bit lost and had to help.

Would definitely recommend making sure you have offline maps or AllTrails app or something like that. We had to rely on our AllTrails app because the signage in most places was inadequate.

The last km or so to the lookout is a steep incline and extremely narrow path with switchbacks and a big drop off if you were to fall.

Not really anything to worry about as an adult as long as your careful, and the view at the top is totally worth it! But, definitely not somewhere I would take kids and wouldn't recommend in heavy rain or highly muddy conditions.

Also recommend to go on a clear day if you can because you can see a lot more from...

Totally worth it We hiked it in the morning before the sun got too hot and before it rains It’s very romantic, with a bench and a little swing. And the three pines

The hike is NOT well signposted I didn’t think. (So there are hike apps available). The previous reviews with the sign marked clearly is not the case today

Additionally there is a cycle map at Belvedere point not useful for walkers (or maybe we just didn’t understand it)

Basically from the lookout take the LEFT path and then basically take the next 2 rights at appropriate forks in the road.

You may do more planning than we did.

But bring water and a snack or two

There is a longer hike a further 10km. We didn’t do that one but it’s an option you basically follow the path on and it takes you back to the car park

Totally worth it

Don’t think the trail was particularly challenging and it did rain the day before but obviously wouldn’t suggest doing...
