Highly recommended! What a superb group of people that work here! Everyone is super friendly and always helpful. They really seem to enjoy their work. Kayaking is reasonably priced and makes for a great day out with the kids or a group of friends. The entire experience was simple from start to finish: Park up at the base camp, pay the fees then hop in a bus for a short drive to the river side. After a short briefing, pick up your watertight barrel to store your gear in, get fitted for your life jacket, hop in your kayak and go on your way.
We learned many lessons kayaking down the river; 1. Kayak all the way to Pont du Gard, stop there for a few hours and have an incredible time swimming, jumping from the rocks, enjoying the view (we didn't do this but drove back after our kayaking to soak up the atmosphere). Food is also available on either bank. Take lots of water! Seriously, that sun is relentless. If it gets too hot, take a dip with your life jacket on.
The trip down the river is only 8km and easily managed in a couple of hours - even with no experience - so buy yourself some time and request a later drop off time.
Thanks to team Canoe Collias for an...

It's easy to make an online reservation, and there are no hidden fees or hassle.
They have free parking in a lot just above their location.
After a quick check-in, there is someone there to outfit you with a paddle and lifejacket. They carry the boat for you, and help you safely launch.
There is a waterproof container to place your valuables, and that fits nicely on the back of your boat.
It's a class 1 rapid, so there are some fun parts where the water moves quickly, but it's essentially not dangerous.
Some people brought along picnic food, because there are places you can easily stop and enjoy the moment. You can proceed at your own pace, and the shuttle arrives at the top of each hour to return you to your car.
Most importantly, you will be paddling underneath one the most amazingly preserved treasures of Roman Architecture, the Pont du Gard, an aqueduct/bridge that was finished in 60 AD. This should be a memorable life experience for you.
While there are other rental shops available, this one is well organized, perfectly...
Read moreWe used Canoe Collias on 3.10.25 and thought it was great. We were the first customers of the day, three of using a boat for two and a kayak for one. Be ready to get wet feet and bottom half - take dry clothes. We put an iPhone in a plastic bag in the dry box provided – it was fine and we managed to take a few pictures as we approached the bridge. The water level was low so we bottomed a few times but that was all part of the fun, the view going under the bridge was amazing, the river was wonderfully quiet as we were the only ones using it. We had parked at the main hub just by the river on the south side of the bridge, there are simple toilets for changing if needed and a friendly welcome. We agreed to pick up time beyond the bridge and were collected promptly and taken back to the start. The survice was perfect, very friendly. We were a family group of three from the UK – highly...
