Tower of Commander Saint Jean du Vieil Aître, Nancy — Attraction in Nancy

It's the oldest building in Nancy accessible from Avenue Foch on a little laneway of Impasse Clerin. The little history plaque indicates that it was built around the twelfth century of a rare Romanesque style monument. The little tower is the last vestige of a church founded by Duke Mathieu I but destroyed in the mid nineteenth century. Vieil Aître refers to an old cemetery that was once here from the Merovingian period. City of Nancy owns this vestige since the nineteen fifties.
