Limited to tasting of 5 wines. Our friends invited us to go with them to taste before buying at the chateau Luc. This tasting room represents their 5 chateau and the wines from each are different. We have been known to purchase many cases of wine from other local wineries but only after tasting to see what we liked. In total we purchased 5 cases this trip only because we were told we could only try 5 total. We purchased 3 of the five we tried but we were put off by the attitude and we knew there were other wineries that sold wines we knew in the same area. We did end up visiting 2 more wineries and and filled the car to the brim with cases of wine. We do not often have to opportunity to get to the different wineries as we do not have a car so this chateau has now lost the chance to start a relationship that could be profitable for them. There are so many other choices of places to try the wines before spending good money on something you might not like when you get home after spending a lot of money on wine from the Boutenac area.
To follow up, I was contacted by the family with an apology. This is not normal for the tasting but someone working for the summer. I was told this would not happen again and invited back to discover the rest of...
Read moreFound this vineyard on a Google search and, as it was a family business and they provided English tours, decided to give it a go. Whatever the furthest from disappointed is on the scale of delight, that is where we were. Cracking tour from Jeanne (daughter), offered about 8 wines, given some wonderful insight to the history of wine in the region, and were also given a glimpse in to their family life when Dad returned with the grandkids, son appeared, and then mum with a crate of freshly picked Muscat grapes. What lively wines, and what a truly lovely family. Value for money for our tour was beyond exceptional but make sure you book at least a day in advance to ensure you don't miss out. In an incredibly good mood...
Read moreWe went to Chateau de Luc for a tour and tasting and it was INCREDIBLE. We learned not only about wine itself but also about the wine economy in the Narbonne region and the challenges that wine makers still face today. This is a family run vineyard and it was so cool hearing about all of the generations who have been working there. During the tasting, they let us try so many different types of wines and added the malbec onto the tasting at our request (even though it wasn’t supposed to be included). The next day, we came back to do the escape room which was also incredibly well done!!! 100% recommend going here for any wine themed activities during...
