We came with our dogs (on lead) on a not so great day weather wise as we thought it would be a great afternoon out for them. Its still warm at the beginning of October so great for us tourists. What a lovely place, we were met both owners on our walk and had a lovely chat. The rain came down heavy and were offered a drink in the marquee whilst it passed. How lovely. The garden in October is full of golden leafed trees in October and I have to say I was surprised how lush it still was. Obviously if you go at the start of the season it'll be in full bloom but we had a lovely couple of hours walking around. When we got home I discovered that they weren't even meant to be open on that day! Oops. But just goes to show how what great hosts they are....
Read moreBeautiful gardens with a multitude of secret paths windy through them. The gardens are certainly very tranquil and well worth a visit. We will be revisiting throughout next year and in the future. We went in October and the colours were stunning The gardens will have different appeal throughout the year but will I believe always look stunning. Having previously visited the garden 10 years ago it was interesting to see the way in which the new owners had developed new areas and built in secret corners.
