The staff is really friendly and helpful. The opening hours is kind of inconvenient though if you are a tourist. For the citizens of Montélimar it is a great place to spend their afternoon! The kids activities are great for the 4-12 year olds. The ticket price is worth it if you take into account all the effort they have put into making it an interesting place. The view is great. I wouldn't recommend it for adults or families with older children though, especially if you have visited the pope's palace in Avignon or the castle of Carcassonne. It is well restored & maintained but probably due to lack of funds, it is not as well developped as some other castles for visits. Really lovely visit to the chateau - inexpensive too €5 reach for my partner and I and our little girl age 7 was free. Lots of activities designed by children (with a little bit of help from some designers) for children in the chateau which kept my little girl entertained. Stunning views of Montelimar from the ramparts. Enjoyed hearing about how fabrics were dyed in medieval times and saw some examples dyed at the museum.
