Champagne Gadet was a gem! We toured and tasted dozens of labels during our week long trip to Epernay and Reims, but this one stands out for a couple reasons. First, our host Francois was so personable and fun. He found us on Instagram and I am glad we took the leap of faith. Most of the smaller producers get overlooked because of the big name houses, so why not use technology to reach your clientele? This level of personal service and hustle is what exemplifies our Champagne Gardet experience. Second, Champagne Gardet delivers to our home in the USA. There is a rule about 1L per person and no one wants to pack a suitcase with wine. I will update this post when our shipment arrives, but Francois assured us our case of bubbles will be in our cellars by Thanksgiving in 1 month (something none of the big labels would take the time to do). Lastly, and most importantly, the bubbles were delicious. Instead of convincing you the house cuvée is for you, Francois attempted to clarify our palette and match the wine to our taste. We sampled 8 bottles, (that’s 5 more than any other house!) Now I know my preferences for when I don’t recognize the label but instead by the grape content, style, sugar content and occasion. An important distinction! Champagne Gardet was the whole experience and a highlight of our trip. Merci beaucoup Francois!
