Surprise in the middle of nowhere or on the way somewhere else. On our way to Bordeaux and after the disappointing Lyon, we came across this place and it was a pleasant surprise. It looks a bit like a movie set in beautiful surroundings. One doesn't need more than 20-30 mins to visit it and, if you do not get inside the building, you don't even need to pay entrance. You can also walk around the small island. Apparentlyz there are some activities one can do inside such as escape room.

What a lovely chateau! Sitting there on a rock in the middle of Loire river. The animated tour is very well set up and the lady guiding the groupe is just lovely and willing to answer all questions and showing full pride in the place. Very nice castle on an island of river Loire. Very scenic situation.
Excellent guided tour by Eveline for families with children, I could join as a single guest. Kind of theatre show with some of the former owners of the castle and even some ghosts :-). Very helpful a notice brochure with German translation.
