Réunion mer et montagne — Attraction in Saint-Benoît

We wanted to learn more about Reunion’s volcanic history after visiting the Volcano museum and lava tubing was the perfect way to do this. Ludovic was a great tour guide, his English was perfect and he was able to flip between French and English so we never felt left out of the group.

His knowledge of all things volcanic is incredible and he really knows how to get a great photo underground.

The trip starts with a lovely informative walk across the lava field then it was into the tunnels! It’s a rare and fascinating experience with so much to see and with information provided throughout.

The futher we traveled into the tunnels the more exciting it got, with options to crawl through small tunnels on hands and knees (helmets and knee pads provided) or to take an easier route around the looped track.

We ended with a session with no torches (seated as a group) to show how pitch black the tunnels really are.

A real highlight of our honeymoon. We highly recommended to anyone with an adventurous side. Fantastic...

Can’t recommend enough this guys for you’re lava tunnels. We had Ludo as guide and his knowledge and explanations about the surrounding and anything related to the Reunion’s volcano was just perfect, he took the time and answered all the questions we had for him.
