Pas de Peyrol — Attraction in Saint-Flour

Beautiful scenery, this place is 1500m advice sea level. There are mountain ranges with snow caps you can touch in the summer. In winter it's gloriously majestic with snow walls. Also amazing valleys that take your breath away. Getting up to the moraines there are twisty roads both up and down with some sheer drops occasionally, we went in may and the roads were clear and dry which was perfect. Also there is a restaurant at the top with seating both inside and outside, they serve hot meals, sandwiches and drinks. There is also a gift shop with lots of souvenirs. A superb summit in the shadow of the soectacular Puy Mary which stands proudly at 1,783m and rising to 1,589m, the Pas de Peyrol is the highest road pass in the Massif Central. Un départ un peu tôt le matin pour ne pas monter le pas de peyrol sous 35°, une route sinueuse très appréciée des cyclistes, et me voilà parti pour une petite mais pentue ascension. La pente est raide, mais la vue est splendide. Faites tte la boucle, elle est très agréable et c'est à portée de tous. Bien sûr je parle de la petite randonnée😉. On a fait le tour et arrivés pour manger au petit resto pour midi. Resto qui , c'est à noter, est plus que raisonnable en terme de prix et de qualité. Le parking est payant je ne comprends pas bien pourquoi....même si le macaron est valable 2mois. Alors , à vos marques, prêts ,...
