We’ve been skiing at Orelle since 2017, missing only one season (due to Covid). The staff in Orelle are always friendly, welcoming and helpful, and they do their best to keep the lifts open whatever the conditions (which can be very challenging!)
The lift passes are the same price as in Val Thorens, but everything else in Orelle is cheaper and easier (and friendlier!) and we have found the pistes to be quieter. Video taken 18/04/2025. On one of the days of our January skiing trip we waited in the cold for more than 3 hours for the Telecabine to open. They kept telling us that in half an hour it will be open so we stayed. It was a big mistake as it never opened that day and we lost a whole day of skiing, were stuck in a line in the cold for 3-4 hours and they never gave back the money for the ski passes for that day. Do not believe them if they say it will open if it’s broken and do not believe them that you will get your money back. I sent them an e-mail with all the information that the ticket office...

Je mets 2 étoiles car ils ont fait des efforts sur l'infrastructure. Il y a des casiers chauffés pour ranger les skis, c'est moderne et pratique, mais sans téléphone impossible de prendre un casier??
En revanche, on nous pousse à prendre un forfait semaine soit disant moins cher. Sans se méfier on fait confiance aux "locaux" qui ont l'habitude et qui connaissent la météo de la semaine. 1er coup de vent : remontée fermée, pas de piste, pas de ski, pas de remboursement. C'est bête, avec une bonne expérience on en aurait parlé positivement on serait revenus, avec une mauvaise on averti seulement les suivants.
On me dit que les chiens sont acceptés dans la cabine si je redescend par le chemin pédestre, que c'est seulement l'accès aux pistes qui est interdit. J'arrive avec mon chien et on m'interdit l'accès à la cabine, on me dit que sur Val Thorens que ce n'est pas autorisé même si je comptais simplement rester sur Orelle. Arrivés à Val Thorens je vois des chiens partout et même dans les cabines.
Enfin la remontée en 15 minutes se fait beaucoup plus souvent en 30 minutes, la vitesse est réglable et tout est bon pour faire des économies, même quand on pratique des tarifs aussi...
