Surprisingly good zoo for a small Caribbean island. The price is high (€17.50/pp), but it is larger than it looks from the road. Don't expect any large mammals, but they do have two large cats (a black jaguar--I've never seen one before ever--and a puma/cougar) and a variety of monkeys. The grounds are interesting as well, since it is the ruins of a former sugar mill and rum distillery. Some beautiful flowers on the grounds as well. Takes about an hour and a half to two hours to walk through. You can walk here from St. Pierre, but there are some spots where there is little room to walk along the highway. Take the second road in from the beach (not the first one as suggested by Google Maps) for a better/wider sidewalk. Click Helpful below if this review has been of...
Read moreThe only zoo on this island is located in the north west of Fort De France. It's easy to get there by car or bus.
The staff is friendly and speaks english. The price is a bit high for such a small zoo, but it's worth it. You can also buy small bags of food for the racoons to feed them. At the end you can play with little birds (parrots) and eat at a...

After many helpless attempts by the staff to find us a taxi, the manager himself gave us a lift to cruise ship during his break! Thanks for everything, you...
