This is the place where I first time experienced very unfriendly and rude service from the chateau personal. We took our dog with us to the chateau were given instructions about where we can go with the dog and where we can’t. Paid €12 per person and were harassed all the way around the chateau regarding our dog. It was on the leash, it didn’t bark. We were schooled upfront other guests were we can and can’t go despite the fact that we were not braking the rules. We went to the gift shop and left dog waiting on the porch tied to the railing. We were told that we are braking the security protocol. Totally unacceptable service. At the reception we were told that French do not like to have dogs in their home as it’s unhygienic…. Really???? €12 wasted, did not see a thing there, except garden. Horrible experience. On another note. Have been in many chateau in Normandy with my dog, never had any issues. Would not recommend to go to that place...

We truly could not have asked for a better way to close...

The castle was rebuild with concrete after it burned in 1968 but you cannot see the concrete unless you get a chance to visit the non-renovated parts. The castle appears in many different movie, and connaisseur of French movies might remember some. We visited the castle in the morning, before June and enjoyed the place without the crowd. When closed during lunchtime (check the schedule), the castle is closed but you can enjoy the park and the French gardens. There is a very nice spot to eat your lunch (with tables) at the top of the hill in the...
