Plage de Carataggio — Attraction in Sartène

Beautiful stunning cove with sandy beach with clear water. The weather was windy when we went with young child. It was probably quieter than usual as it was annoying that the sand was whipped up into your eyes. At least a 20 minute walk on sandy stony path, a little up and down from the main route. Take this time into account, if you end up paying for the parking nearer the trail path entrance. There is a cafe available at one end of the beach but we didn’t use as we brought a picnic with us which we tried to protect from the windy sand. Shallow lagoon great for families with young children. Good for snorkelling and saw small fish. No boats anchored when we were there so quiet. This was, hands down, the most beautiful beach we visited in Corsica. It’s everything the other reviews say. There’s a naturist area to the left of the beach, there’s snack shack that was apparently closed as at early Sept when we visited (presumably only there in high season) yes it’s about a 25 min walk there - mostly downhill so uphill on the way back, but well worth it and the car parking is at the side of the road and a pay station at the start of the path to the beach. La spiaggia di Carataggio, da molti è chiamata Tahiti (sicuramente perché le attinenze con i colori polinesiani sono molte) è raggiungibile agevolmente dal mare e non è attrezzata. Da terra si può raggiungere attraverso due sentieri uno che parte dalla strada all' altezza del ristorante Casa Cantine in localita Picovaggia, l'altro dalla strada che va dalla Palombaggia a Portovecchio passando sul promontorio. Quest' ultimo è più agibile, l'altro è molto avventuroso bisogna essere un po' allenati perché prima si sale fino a scollinare e poi si scende per circa 30/40 minuti di cammino attento, attraversando cespugli e rovi della splendida macchia mediterranea corsa (trovate un video di una sezione del percorso così potete valutare che equipaggiamento portare). La fatica viene sicuramente ripagata, Come in altre spiagge lontane e selettive, si dovrà accettare di condividerla con i naturisti, ma devo dire che è abbastanza grande e poco affollata che questo non disturba. Oltre ai cani, alla spiaggia di Carataggio accedono anche i cavalli come potete vedere nelle foto e nei video a corredo della recensione. Dalla spiaggia parte anche un sentiero che conduce ad un altra spiaggia naturista che è la spiaggia di Santa Costanza. La sabbia è fine e bianchissima e di conseguenza il fondale è bianco e turchese con macchie scure di poseidonia che non viene rimossa.
