Греми - Грузинский православный собор расположен в Кахетии, в деревне Кварели, в цитадели к востоку от Греми, на высоком холме. Он был построен королем Кахетии Леваном в 1565 году. Роспись была закончена в 1577 году.

История Греми, как город, начинается с XV века, когда первый царь Кахетии, Георгий (1466-1476) превратил его в столицу Кахетии. Этот статус поддерживался Греми более двух столетий. Здесь велись активные книжные мероприятия, а также проходили караванные дороги. Именно поэтому он стал центром политической, экономической и культурной жизни Кахетии.

Архитектурный комплекс Греми состоит из различных зданий. Здесь находятся Архангельская купольная церковь, трехэтажный дворец-колокольня, хозяйственные постройки, куртина и секретный выход к реке Инцоби. Есть также бани, рынок и гостиный двор. Наиболее видимой частью Греми является так называемый комплекс Архангелов, который находится на конце скалистого хребта и состоит из высокой стены купольной церкви и дворцово-колокольня.

Исторический комплекс Греми представляет собой музей-заповедник с 1975 года. Во дворце-колокольня находится этнографический материал и часть предметов, найденных при раскопках: оружие бронзового века, украшения, скульптуры мелких животных, железные топоры (XII-XIII века) , образцы керамики, плитки и кирпича, трубы для питьевой воды (XV век), средневековое оружие (пушки, лук и стрелы XVI века).
