In Gremi — Hotel in Kakheti

My review could be much better, because I liked the area of the hotel and the fact it’s new and fresh with nice views, BUT really the service at the hotel was terrible. Not even close to the service of the normal hotel and I’m not even saying about Georgian hospitality that Georgia is famous for! The reasons for my very negative experience are the following: Daily cleaning is not performed UNLESS you put a sign on the door to ask for cleaning, which is ridiculous when they state on booking that the daily cleaning is a part of the services but then say nothing that you need to ask for the cleaning (again, isn’t obvious I need my towels changed and room cleaned, especially when the water in the shower is leaking? In every hotel it’s a norm). Also, no written rules or instructions nowhere in the hotel so you get acquainted with how the hotel services operate. Having snacks or food or drinks in the patio or “picnic area” they have listed a part of the facilities is NOT actually so easy or even possible. They don’t consider sandwiches or bread as snacks (like whaaaat???) and apparently their definition of picnic is very narrow and specific (most likely whatever you cannot order in their restaurant is not considered snack so it’s forbidden.) Very poor service considering they have ZERO policies or signs or rules in the hotel (neither they send you over a guide with instructions) so obviously I expected I was allowed to have a picnic with my own snacks and drinks outside (otherwise what’s the point of them listing picnic facilities as what’s included in the hotel)? Just to trick and cheat and attract guests interested in this service and then on site say it doesn’t work like that? Again, very poor way to treat and trick guests this way. They allowed “as an exception” to eat a birthday cake in the patio as my mom had her 60th birthday (the next day they did no longer allow it) - they “made an exception “ for what they basically say is they offer by default. The level of absurd is enormous! Forget about Georgian hospitality or generosity in this place, because you won’t get it here. I’m not even saying they could have offered a cheap bottle of wine as a gift or a plate of fruits for my mom’s birthday (I mean, it’s the cheapest way to make your guests pleased and show the sign of hospitality from the country like Georgia that used to be famous for its generous hosts and people as a whole). Now, the manager Nani (I guess that is her name) was vey authoritative and stated SHE is the owner so what SHE says is how it is, SHE dictates the rules and those are not written anywhere so you just have to believe what she tells you 😄 I mean - I’m happy for you but while I’m the guest and I pay for my stay I have to be treated with basic respect and my service has to be at a basic quality level (especially when I talk about such basic necessities). Shame on this kind of managers, really. I also should mention that we were one of the very few guests at the hotel at the time we stayed there (if not the only ones), and instead of treating us with more hospitality and respect, they left such a negative impact on our trip and stay. I was even thinking to stay one night longer in this place on the day 1, but once we faced the service quality and attitude of the hotel manager - I obviously regretted we had to stay for one more night...

We have stayed at the In Garmi hotel for two nights. The hotel is located in the middle of a beautiful countryside in Kakheti Georgia. The hotel staff was lovely, service was of a high quality. The food is organic from the local farmers, fresh and prepared with love. This is a wonderful location for the destination weddings! I highly recommend a fall wedding. If you're searching for peaceful place, after chaotic city life, can't recommend this place enough.

Place is beautiful, rooms clean and cozy. Pool is super nice, especially if you can't swim, like me, it's only 155 cm. Views are beautiful, on a magnificent Caucasus mountains, or on a Gremi cathedral.

Food is another story, everything is super delicious, natural and portions are quite big.

Service just professional. Everybody knows their job. Super friendly, knowledgeable and approachable.
