They are often changing the flowers and the settings/arrangements, which means there is always something to see during the year, so it is worth to come at different moments. This is a relaxing place to enjoy with family or friends, even the week-ends it is not too crowded. There is a nice japanese garden inside and every year there is a japanese event being held. It is not rare to see some couples making their wedding photos there. There is a restaurant in the furthest place of the garden, and a kid playground as well. Some chairs are available for people who want to rest or do sunbathing. The price is really low (3 euros per adult) and there is also a cheap yearly pass, a good deal for people living around. The zoo is just in front, so it is possible to visit both the same day if you can go early enough. ;-) Recommended to pay...
Read moreThe garden is really nice, very well manteined, especially I enjoyed the Japanese one, so peaceful! The visit is really worth it the 3.50, but don't forget to bring cash or coins with you as apparently they have some problems with the payment with the card. I normally pay everything with the card in the Netherlands, but I noticed that the lady at the entrance was incredibly upset with me as I didn't have enough coins and I only missed 0,30cents.....She should learn to be a little more friendly even with the tourist. I also suggest to write the explanations in English for our humble tourist that we would like to understand what we read!...
Our botanical garden invites you to take a walk on sunny days. It's not huge, but it's spacious so you can enjoy the atmosphere in peace and quiet. There is a lot on offer: small shady corners that all have a different theme, always nice sculptures or even archaeological finds from Roman times, a small greenhouse, a beautifully landscaped pond with ducks, a pavilion that is also used for concerts, a beer garden , a large playground for the children, a different kind of rock garden, a stream flowing along the side under shady trees and the absolute highlight for me: the Japanese garden. Beautiful, peaceful and quiet. There are also always different events such as the Night of Lights (the Botanical Garden is open until midnight) or the Japanese Day, on which a lot of Japanese culture is demonstrated and you are also provided with...
