Brahms House — Attraction in Baden-Baden

I cannot wait until they start selling ice cream! It is one of the tightest and best maintained historical sights in a very historical city. Expanding into the neighbors room with artifacts from the great composer was a great idea, and this museum provides you with the opportunity to interact directly with actual primary sources. We stumbled upon this museum by accident and did not regret it at all! We happen to be there are the right time (check opening times as it is not the same everyday). The video at the start was so informative and engaging. The tour after that by the lady was great and helped us understand more about Brahms being inspired in the beautiful town of Baden-Baden.

Visita extremamente interessante, efetuada por uma senhora que falava um inglês impecável e nos deu imensas informações muito detalhadas. Desde as camadas do papel de parede, visíveis numa parte da parede do quarto, o que possibilitou apreciar várias "épocas" da casa, até a recuperação duma ala da casa, onde recebem estudante de musica ou músicos que se podem alojar lá por determinados períodos tempo, com a vantagem de poderem treinar sem incomodar ninguém, inspirar-se naquele ambiente idílico, local onde outro musico já trabalhou e fazer/tomar as suas refeições. Já tinham recebidos músicos provenientes do Brasil até ao Japão. Toda a casa está a ser recuperada. Nota-se que deveria estar já num elevado grau de degradação, e que aos poucos está a ser recuperada. Bela obra e faço votos que consigam a 100% o objetivo de reabilitar esta magnifica casa, preservando memórias e história. Fiquei um pouco mais próxima de Brahms e Clara Schumann.
