Schlosspark Herrenchiemsee — Attraction in Breitbrunn am Chiemsee (VGem)

A must see! It's a beautiful experience and the castle is wonderful. The tour is well organized and detailed. They'll take you from one side to the other, showing you all the details of this place. Although you can't take pictures of the inside, there is a museum at the entrance that has replicas of some of the things you will see inside and there you can take pictures. We went during the week and it was a relaxing experience. The weekend gets a lot more crowded and difficult... Plan your visit! Note that the price of the ferry doesn't include the price for the castle or the museum. You can buy the ticket for the castle and the museums at the ticket office...

A real mind warp if you've been to Versailles. A shame that an entire wing of this Palace was taken down. What is left is impressive; the interior more so than Versailles. However, the no picture rule is ridiculous (especially in such lofty rooms). The tour guides are abrupt and don't touch much on the Versailles connection. I stood wanting to take in the Hall of mirrors and my guide rushed me ... shameful. Not welcoming. I paid to tour and travelled 6000 kms .. Park and generally visit the island Herrenchiemsee and castle recommend. It's a beautiful place. You have to get to the island by boat, that's an experience.
