Burg Hayn — Attraction in Dreieich

This is an Old part of the town, Cobble stones line the streets, and the houses are mostly stone plastered, and wood framed, really old and interesting, so it's got character, the main street has alot of cafés and were all busy at the time I was there, and all the shops are different, from clothing, to book shops, hair dresses, jewelry shops, etc. In the street there is an historic Arch-way an original part of the township and nerves my Lkw driver, as our truck has just enough room to pass under, but with extreme caution, further down the street is the ruin of the Burg and also a market place and is really big, not too far away is the lake that has seats all around and an easy access way, and a really neat fountain with mermaids, by the market place is also an Old Church from the first years of...

Burg Hayn is a perfect place to visit if you are travelling in Hessen. Germany has one of the highest population of castles and this is just one of them. If you visit this place it will seem like a disney fairytale film. Nearby you will find shops, dentists, a beautiful lake full of wildlife. There is also a museum showing you art and antiques explaining the history of the city Dreieich in which the castle is situated in. Generell schön für einen kleinen Ausflug. Das Museum ist liebevoll gestaltet, auch zum Mitmachen für Kinder. In der Altstadt gibt es nette Cafés oder man isst noch ein Eis. Wir haben den Kindergeburtstag (7J) mit einer großen Gruppe dort gefeiert - Burgführung mit anschließender Schatzsuche. Die Kinder hatten Spaß. Der Preis ist absolut moderat und nicht von der Kinderzahl abhängig. Die Burgführerin war total nett. Es hat gefühlt noch ein bisschen Potential, etwas spannender und altersgerechter präsentiert zu werden. Klar am Kindergeburtstag sind alle aufgeregt und in dem Alter inkl vieler Jungs ist es so ein bisschen na ja wenn erst mal 10 Minuten erzählt wird. Auch, wenn die Kinder sich auf Fragen melden dürfen. Das geht mMn schon etwas spannender, "peppiger" bzw. "cooler". Unsere Gruppe war da relativ gut zu händeln und die Kinder haben "brav" mitgemacht. Aber wenn da etwas Wildere dabei wären mit kurzer Aufmerksamkeitsspanne... das kann anstrengend sein. Das sollte man sich vorher überlegen. Wenn die Kinder gut mitmachen bei sowas, ist es absolut zu empfehlen. Was vielleicht nicht so ideal ist, sind die schon etwas abgegriffenen Hinweise - die könnte man mal bisschen anders gestalten und neu laminieren. Auch die Tatsache, dass sie direkt bei der Burgführung versteckt werden... die Kinder sehen das halt auch schnell und wissen dann schon vorher, wo der zu finden ist. Es hat 1 Stern Luft nach oben. Aber in Summe tut das für die Kinder keinen Abbruch, es macht Spaß draußen, ist mal was anderes. Wir waren etwas früher, so dass die Gruppe sich auf dem Spielplatz vorher schon austoben konnte. Kann es in diesem Alter absolut empfehlen als Alternative zum Indoorspielplatz (mag ich persönlich nicht). Ist aber Wetterabhängig - wir hatten im März schönen...
