Located along the old border road, the Walderlebniszentrum (nature center) has many interactive features to play with integrated into the woods and there is also suspended walkway in the canopy of the trees. For children, it's a lot of fun and I would suggest visiting if you have some time to kill and want a nice walk in the woods, but it's not a "must see." There's a visitor center there (read: restrooms) and plenty of parking, so it is also a really good rest stop if you're on your way to or from Tyrol (Austria).

My favorite part about it is that it's right next to the river and near the Lechfall, so that is usually why I go.

In a nutshell, I find it an enjoyable place to go from time to time, but it is not my favorite place to hike in Füssen.

Please note: It can be muddy and impossible to visit from time to time! It is not a rainy...

Wooden road high up in the trees, that starts in Germany and ends in Austria. The border with is marked with color: blue for Bayern and red for Austria, there is also a metal sign. Terrific views guaranteed! There are benches here and there, so you can have a rest or a picnic with a view.

The road is not that long, and stable to walk on. It’s designed to be started in Germany (where you can pay), so I suggest driving to the end of the road, leave your car in Austria and take a short walk back down the road to pay for entrance. That way when you finish the Forest road, you’ll end up at the parking lot with your car close.

Underneath the forest road there is a park with benches and playgrounds - if your kids are afraid of heights, they can play...

The trail was strong and not so long. Easily accessible for everyone. 5 stop points are there in between to enjoy the view of Trees, Mountain and lake Füssen. The names of the trees you pass are written on the walkway. The entrance fee is 5€. When we visited, the last path was closed, hence the price was reduced to half. The entire tree trail is wheelchair accessible♿ and stroll friendly . There is a small cafe nearby and plenty of children's playgrounds around where children can engage...

A great little piece of nature, tucked away. I just happened to spot a child going down a slide as I was passing through, and discovered that there was a whole 1mi hiking trail. Easy hike, no elevation to speak of except one set of stairs in and out. Little bits of recreation to be had all along the trail. The kids will love it. Great in cool summer evening, plenty of shade to be had. These Bavarians & Tyrolians have got this "commune with nature" thing figured out.

Very cool center with many child and family friendly hikes. The information center has a public restroom, and some informative exhibitions. There is a large parking lot near the center. The only downside for us is that when we came to the center the auwaldpfad was blocked due to heavy flooding from previous rain and consequently the river was also murky. The other hikes, bergwaldpfad and treetop walk were still very impressive and I truly recommend this center.

A pleasant walk on suspension bridges high up at tree top level. Entry is free for the whole day with the ""Königskarte", a pass that many hotels offer to their guests. Unfortunately, the trees have grown and you can't see the river. From the base of the suspension bridge, it is only a short walk to the Lech waterfall and gorge. Underneath the treetop experience you'll find a very well thought out playground for the children.
