ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES EVER!!! I booked with pegasus airlines, I was denied boarding asking for a visa to a country I am only transitioning from, although when I booked if didn’t state that a Visa is needed!! I didn’t want to cuz any problem so I agreed to leave the desk but I have asked for a paper with my passenger rights which the employee( a blonde turkish lady Aslanidou) on the check in desk refused to do so, ALTHOUGH there was a huge poster behind her stating: as a passenger you have the right to ask for such paper from the desk if you were denied boarding, cancelled flight or a delayed one. She admitted that I was registered in the system and referred to me as a Passenger but refused to print me the paper out which she is obliged to do so by law. I refused to leave till she hive me the paper or at least connect me which someone who can help. After some while her supervisor came( a black indian lady) unfortunately she just repeated what her colleague said and nothing new. She asked me to check online or as she said: it is not our problem you go find a solution your self otherwise I am calling the police. I told her, I am asking for my right and done nothing wrong. I refused to leave. The police came after 15 mins they immediately asked for my passport and my Id with out any introduction or stating their reasons, they were also extremely rude even refused to give their names or badge numbers at the beginning. I explained to them the same, one of the officers agreed with me but said there is nothing he can do. While the others denied my rights saying: I do not have passenger rights, yet the employee said I am registered in the system and that I am a passenger even they referred to me as a passenger. Long story short, the interrogated for about 30mins as of I have done something wrong, I was forced to open my luggages without stating a reason they were looking for the slightest thing to cause me a problem but they couldn’t, specially the female officer she was extremely rude and disrespectful and didn’t want to hear only to talk. At the end a lady from the management came and gave me the paper, so I left after!! Could have done that from the beginning but no they wanted to cause me problems!! Sorry for the long story but I was...
Read moreStuttgart airport seems efficient especially when compared to Berlin Airport.
Because of its compact size you can reach public transportation fast.
Alas, the ticket machine only accepts 5 and 10 Euro notes (does not accept above 10 Euros) and my credit card was declined though I punched the correct pin code.
There is no staff or ticket office and even if I had withdrawn money from an ATM machine it would probably not give 5 or 10 Euro notes...
Let me add that my credit card is in Euros from a bank which is not in the Euro zone but is a part of the iban system and I tapped it on public transportation all over Europe (in EU and non EU countries) without any problems in dozens of countries.
It is only in Germany which technologically seems to be stuck in the 1990s that I faced this problem.
On that day there was a public transport strike in all Ubahn lines so my only option was the S bahn or a taxi.
Luckily I found a 5 Euro note that I kept for buying water on the plane and forgot about so I was able to buy my ticket and board the S bahn just in time.
On the way out I realised no lounge accepts the visa companion and dragon pass.
It is strange because airports lounges have much to gain from connecting with the visa companion system and dragon as they have millions of members many of who travel frequently (myself included).
A word of advice :
If you need to charge your mobile phone do so before you enter the departure area.
The Mcdonald's near the sky level has a few charging points.
At the departure area as far as I can see there is not a single functioning electricity outlet.
There are electric charging points evident on a long bench but the bench is not connected to the electricity as there is no electricity plug anywhere in...
Read moreAvoid Stuttgart Airport if You Expect Basic Humanity or Help
If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience at Stuttgart Airport was beyond appalling. My sister, her husband, and their two small children (ages 4 and 6) have Montenegrin citizenship and were flying to Tirana. Albanian travel rules require foreign passports valid for at least 3 months. The 4-year-old’s passport was valid for 2 months and 29 days—ONE day short. Instead of understanding the stress or offering solutions, the lady at the baggage counter showed zero empathy or willingness to help.
When we asked what to do, she shrugged and told us she was not responsible. When we requested to speak with her boss, she claimed he was "too busy" and likely wouldn’t come. Her attitude was inhumane—completely unfit for someone in a customer-facing role.
Desperate for answers, we went to the airport police, who also refused to help or provide guidance. The same happened at the ticket purchase counter—no one even attempted to check the system for options we were asking for. It was as if a young family with small children didn’t matter to them at all. No one took responsibility of helping or providing service, and no one cared. We repeatedly heard the sentence "that is not in my responsibility".
Contrast this with Memmingen Airport: I called the next day, and their information desk immediately provided clear and helpful guidance on travel rules for Albania and Montenegro. Stuttgart Airport could learn a lot from them.
This was an inhumane, shameful experience that highlights Stuttgart Airport’s lack of basic customer service. If you’re traveling with kids or need any form of assistance, avoid this airport...
