The Goethe Tower (Goetheturm) is a popular tourist destination in Frankfurt, Germany. It is a 43-meter wooden tower located in the Frankfurt City Forest (Frankfurter Stadtwald), which is a large forested area in the city. The tower was originally built in 1931, but it was destroyed by a fire in 2017. However, it has since been rebuilt and reopened to the public in 2021. Goetheturm is a lovely spot for a relaxing outing, especially if you’re looking for something family-friendly. The observation tower offers great views over the surrounding forest and Frankfurt skyline—worth the climb if you’re up for a bit of exercise.

There’s also a small café nearby, perfect for a coffee or snack break, and a playground that keeps the kids entertained while the adults unwind. It’s a peaceful escape from the city and a great way to enjoy some fresh air and nature.

Der Goetheturm ist ein echtes Highlight in Frankfurt! Der Aufstieg über die vielen Stufen lohnt sich absolut – oben angekommen wird man mit einem traumhaften Blick über den Stadtwald, die Skyline und bei gutem Wetter sogar bis zum Taunus belohnt. Der Turm selbst ist wunderschön aus Holz gebaut und strahlt eine besondere Atmosphäre aus.

Direkt daneben befindet sich ein großer Waldspielplatz, der für Kinder ein Paradies ist. Besonders schön sind die Wasserspiele, das Labyrinth mit den Spiegeln und die vielen Klettermöglichkeiten. Perfekt für einen Familienausflug! Auch Gastronomie ist in der Nähe vorhanden – rundum ein tolles Erlebnis für Groß und Klein.

Climbing the many steps is absolutely worth it – at the top, you’re rewarded with an amazing panoramic view of the forest, the city skyline, and on clear days, even the Taunus mountains. The wooden structure of the tower gives it a unique and charming feel.
