❌ Unfriendly ❌ no customer service ❌ no consideration or flexibility
September 30th, 2024: we arrived at the Eckbauer Bergstation after a long and exhausting hike from Partnachklamm. It was 17:05, and we were hoping to take the cable car back down to the valley, as we were too tired to continue walking. However, despite the fact that the cable car was still running, we were told by the operator that the last ride had been at 17:00 (5 minutes ago!) and there’s nothing he can do about it.
We asked if we could still take the cable car, as it was only five minutes past the cutoff time and the gondolas were still moving. The response we received was a flat, unhelpful "No, the last ride is at 17:00." No explanation, no flexibility, and certainly no consideration for our situation. We watched as the empty cable cars continued to operate while we were forced to hike back down the steep, slippery path.
This lack of basic customer service and rigid adherence to time, even when safety and well-being are at stake, is unacceptable. The path down was treacherous, especially as daylight started to fade. I can’t imagine what would have happened if we had been older or less able-bodied.
We then shared this bad experience with locals who were shocked and disappointed of this unwelcoming behaviour.
For a place that depends so heavily on tourism, you would expect a bit more understanding and compassion from the staff. We are deeply disappointed with how we were treated and will not be recommending this experience to...

There is a road, down the hill, where you can walk, and go to Partnamklam ,I don't know the name correctly, you will get there about 1our and 15 min. Enjoy...
Read moreWe came here on a Sunday after a small snow storm came through the night before. It was a great excursion for a day, riding the gondola to the top of the mountain and sledding at the top. They have sled rentals for 10€ a person and there’s a restaurant up there as well. The restaurant was a little pricey, but the food was amazing. Beautiful views and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting in the winter, and I’m sure summer time will be beautiful as well — and you can do...
