There are 2 primary parts to this attraction. We paid for 3 things which I believe included the 4D movie. It was about 77 euro for 2 adults and 1 child (age 7). 1st stop was Filmstadt Atelier. This was a building with LOTS of photos. We speak English so if you download their 2 apps, you may have a better experience. Everything in there was in German in exception to the touchscreen quizzes places throughout. There is a short 4D movie, a slow moving "ride" that shows short clips and more photos of a few movies, and an opportunity to take a photo riding Falcor (Neverending Story) in front of a green screen. I believe there was also 1 more thing because we heard a group of people shouting answers to an employee behind one of the walls. We didn't bother because it was in German. Again, downloading the app helps but that was one section I wouldn't have minded skipping. A good portion of the movies mentioned were German movies. We were in there about 1 1/2 hours.
For food, there is a McDonalds and a small gift shop that sells packaged ice cream and drinks along with souvenirs/gifts/etc.
There are 2 or so small play areas for the kids.
Next we were scheduled a time to go do the tour. It took 2 hours. Lined up to go the to 4D movie which was probably the best part. After, there was a guided tour, in German, but we downloaded the 2nd app in order to get information about each studio set we visited. We visited seen parts of sets from Das Boot, Sturm der Liebe, and a few others. We enjoyed this part as well. There were a few more opportunities to participate in green screen experiences.
I did ask at the front counter for an english tour and got the impression, it would be that but it was not. I did overhear another person ask and the tour guide said that it was a German tour. Not sure when or how english tours are done.
Overall, It was just okay. A bit outdated, the app was useful but know that you will NOT get all of the info that the guide is sharing in German. There is nothing translated except entrance and exit signs and a few small other tidbits. If if you can interpret German, I would still say it was just okay...
Read moreI'll be honest that I only went so I could have a picture of me riding Falkor from the Never Ending Story. Although he was in a room in the courtyard and no longer part of the actual tour.
We were there the last week of September 2024. We planned our day around the fact the website stated they offered one English tour at 12pm. Unfortunately, when we got there, they said they had no staff for the English tour. If we had known we could have planned differently. We were able to use the wifi to download their audio tour in English to listen to. It was obvious more information was given in German than on the audio guide. We had a friend with us that knew a little German and told us a few things.
The 4D short we were forced to watch made me motion sick. After that we were taken to a spot and waited 10 minutes while our guide ran off to check on something. We were unsure what that was about. Some of the sets were interesting to walk though but most were from older films and not much current. Aside from the NES, it was mostly German films, but that is to be expected. Our friend had seen one or two for them.
There were a few "interactive" parts of the tour. The green screen one was entertaining and easy to understand. The one of the other ones, even the Germans didn't seem to understand the point. Not speaking the language made those parts of the tour...
Read moreLet me start with things that could be improved. First the car park needs an upgrade and charging 5€ felt a little bit like a rip off. The entrance area of the park with the McDonalds needs a major redoing to bring it up to date and the descriptions and signs should have an English translation. Also on the guided tour the movie clips they show should have an English version. Bullyversum I cannot recommend at all. Very outdated rides and things. On the pro side. All the staff was super friendly with excellent English. I really enjoyed the guided tour in English. Our tour guide Alena was absolutely fantastic and made the experience very special. Making small movie clips was a lot of fun. The 4-D movie was also good, but the movie could be a little longer. All in all I would recommend going there to do the guided tour in English. Great experience! If they would upgrade the park and bring some new rides or experiences I would be super. It has big potential which is not quiet used. Sometimes in Germany you have the feeling they lag investment and vision to make nice things...
