Best museum I saw lately. Price for entry is like it's free given the amount of data and uniqueness there is there. 90% of the gallery is static but some of it is travelling and from time to time comes back and is on display. Museum is filled with knowledge and it's spotless clean and well organized. It's one of the best museums I know around and I visited a lot of them. Beats any wax museum in how interesting all is. Surely is not the people easily disgusted or uncomfortable with body parts just exposed but for a kid looking to learn anatomy and dreaming of being a doctor is like a walk in a book. I saw it 3 times now, and even if I see mostly the same stuff I always find a new angle to look at it from, a new perspective or a new interest.

Plenty parking spot and cheap polish shops nearby.

Also they have a walk-in area where people work and you can talk to them and they are glad in german or english to explain how stuff happens, times, costs, interest and clients...of course as much as it makes sense to share publicly.

Das Plastinarium in Guben bietet ein Erlebnis der besonderen Art. Der Anatom und Humanmediziner Gunther von Hagens hat hier etwas Einzigartiges aufgebaut: Seine Firma stellt anatomische Präparate von Menschen und Tieren her und verkauft sie in die ganze Welt. Das besondere Verfahren wird in der Ausstellung gut erklärt. Das Highlight: Besucher können auch die Werkstatt besichtigen, in der die Herstellung erfolgt. Die Mitarbeiter erklären bereitwillig, was sie gerade tun und beantworten die Fragen der Besucher. Man erfährt, welch großer Aufwand in den Präparaten steckt und wie detailgetreu jedes kleinste Gefäß und jede Sehne bearbeitet wird. Die Ausstellung enthält eine Reihe von Tieren, wie z. B. zwei komplette Giraffen und einen Hai, widmet sich aber im Wesentlichen der menschlichen Anatomie. Dabei wird nichts ausgespart. Man bekommt einen außerordentlich gründlichen Einblick in unseren Körper und staunt schnell, was das für ein Wunderwerk ist. Empfehlen würde ich die Ausstellung allen. Ich denke, man kann dort auch gut mit Kindern hingehen, wenn man bereit ist, ein paar Fragen zu beantworten, die sicher entstehen werden. Alle Ausstellungsstücke sind für Laien verständlich beschrieben. Das Plastinarium atmet den Geist der Aufklärung. Hier wird ganz genau hingeschaut, was ist. Eine Interpretation oder Wertung erfolgt indes nicht. Jeder Besucher hat die Möglichkeit, seine eigenen Fragen zu stellen und...

Know what you are getting into. But I assume if you make it this far off the beaten path, you know what you're getting into... It's nice to see people taking their job seriously, but also having a sense of humor. The only languages spoken on the day I went were German and Polish, but that shouldn't affect your visit too much. You just may not get to ask any questions.
